#DEVELOPING MAJOR #SEVERE #WX OUTBREAK EXPECTED TODAY ACROSS EASTERN US

(STORM WATCH AMERICA) ATLANTA GA
1:20 AM ET THU 2/20/14
Nearly 50 million people may be affected today into early Friday across the eastern US from severe weather as a strong cold front moves across the eastern US. Out ahead of this cold front will be warm moist air. The end result. severe thunderstorms. The main threat today i think will be damaging winds. There is a chance of some isolated tornadoes from IL down to the gulf coast states.
At this time, i think the greatest risk for severe weather and isolated tornadoes will be in north AL, west and central TN, northeast AR, IL, IN, MO, and OH.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of these areas under a risk for severe thunderstorms for Thursday. As the system moves further east on Friday morning, places like Atlanta GA could be under the gun for damaging winds and a possible tornado, however it looks at this time as if the line will weaken as it moves into that area.
