#DEVELOPING FLOOD EVENT EXPECTED IN #ATLANTA FOR 4TH OF JULY

There is a strong indication according to the latest computer models and forecast, that your 4th of July events all across N&C #GA will be a washout!

The National Weather Service has already placed a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for much of the state from Wed morning to Fri morning. 2-3″ of rain is expected, with higher amounts possible north & east of Atlanta including the north GA mountains and east GA.

The gulf of mexico is wide open this week and winds will drive storms from the gulf of mexico into Georgia. Also, a front has stalled out in east AL and west GA. These 2 factors will increses chances for thunderstorm development anytime during the day or night all across the area.

The heaviest weather would be in the afternoon and evening during the heating of the day. Other threats inlude some Severe weather as well including damaging winds and possibly some hail. Dangerous and deadly lightning will also be a threat as most people will be outside during this holiday. If you see lightning and are outside event this holiday week, please seek shelter indoors right away. Remember, if you hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck be lightning.

Also remember, if you are out and about this week in your car and you encounter flooding, do not drive into areas where water covers the roadway. no matter how deep. A few inches of rushing water and sweep your car away.
